Easy Two Color Corner to Corner Scarf Pattern

Easy corner to corner two tone scarf pattern and tutorial.

The corner to corner crochet stitch is probably one of my favorite types of crochet stitches. Once you’ve got the stitch down making blankets and scarves is a breeze.  

If this is your first time creating a crochet a corner to corner (C2C) crochet scarf this pattern is designed with beginners in mind. 

You can use two colors to create a two tone scarf of just stick to one color if you want too.

Without further ado let’s get to the pattern. 

What You Need:

  • Hook Size K/ 6.50 mm
  • Studio Classic Red -1 Ball, Medium weight (4)
  • Studio Classic Black -1 Ball, Medium weight (4)
  • Scissors
  • Darning Needle
  • Stitch markers (optional)

Finished measurements:

8 blocks wide by 80 blocks tall / 5.75 in wide x 58.5 in long/  14.60 cm wide x 148.59 cm

Skill level: Beginner-Advanced Beginner

Corner to Corner Scarf Crochet Pattern

How to Create the Width

1.Starting with the red yarn (or color of your choice) Ch. 5 dc in the 3rd ch from the hook, 1 dc in the next 2 ch, turn (1 block)

2.Ch 5 dc in 3rd ch from the hook, *1 dc in the next 2 ch, slip st in space b/t 3rd & 4th dc in the previous block, ch.2, 3 dc*, turn (2 blocks)

3.Ch 5 dc in 3rd ch from the hook, 1 dc in the next 2 ch, *slip lst in space b/t 3rd & 4th dc in the previous block, ch 2, 3 dc*, repeat * 2x , turn (3 blocks)

4. Ch 5 dc in 3rd ch from the hook, 1 dc in the next 2 ch, *slip lst in space b/t 3rd & 4th dc in the previous block, ch 2, 3 dc*, repeat * 3x, turn ( 4 blocks)

5. Repeat until you have 8 blocks

How to Create the Length (rows 9 – 40)

6. Ch 5 dc in 3rd ch from the hook, 1 dc in the next 2 ch, *slip lst in space b/t 3rd & 4th dc in the previous block, ch 2, 3 dc*, repeat *, Continue as normal until you get to the last block. Slip st in the 3rd space, turn do not make a block in the last space.

7. Sl st in across the next 3 dc, then *sl stitch in the 3rd space, ch 2, 3 dc* repeat in each block until you get back to the top.

8. Repeat steps 6 & 7 until you have 40 blocks

9. Ch 5 dc in 3rd ch from the hook, 1 dc in the next 2 ch (Block 40), *slip lst in space b/t 3rd & 4th dc in the previous block, ch 2, 3 dc*, repeat *, Continue as normal until you get to the last block. Slip st in the 3rd space, turn do not make a block in the last space.

10. Sl st in across the next 3 dc, then change colors *sl stitch in the 3rd space with the black yarn (color 2), ch 2, 3 dc* repeat in each block until you get back to the top.

11. Repeat steps 9 & 10 with the new color (do not change color again) until you have 80 blocks in length

How to Finish The Corner

To complete the corner of the scarf do the following

12. In block 80 turn and slip st across the next 3 dc, *sl stitch in the 3rd space with the black yarn (color 2), ch 2, 3 dc* repeat until you get to the last block (do not make a block in the last space.

13. Sl st in the space, turn sl stitch across the next 3 dc repeat * back to the top

14. Repeat steps 12 & 13, until the corner is complete. Tie off your yarn and weave in your ends.
